Auckland University
School of Population Health

Major research clusters include cardiovascular disease, primary healthcare, gambling and alcohol research, clinical trials, quality in healthcare and Māori, Pacific and Asian health.

Pacific Health
Pacific Health aims to improve health outcomes of Pacific communities through excellence in research and applications generate knowledge and understanding of Pacific health through quality education.

Tōmaiora Māori Health Research Centre
All research undertaken will be productive for Māori health development and lead to long-term improvements in Māori health. Individuals, whānau, hapū and iwi will benefit positively.

Centre for Asian Health Research and Evaluation (CAHRE)
The mission of CAHRE is to develop critical and inter-disciplinary processes for improving health amongst members of New Zealand Asian populations.

ESR – Institute of Environmental Science and Research 
ESR is a government owned crown research institute.  We provide operational science and research services which underpin New Zealand’s health, justice and biosecurity systems. Our mission is to protect people and their environment through science – Manaaki tangata taiao hoki.

Health Research Council
The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC) is the Crown agency responsible for the management of the Government’s investment in public good health research. The Council is responsible to the Minister of Health, and its major funding agreement is through the Minister of Science and Innovation. A Memorandum of Understanding between the two Ministers sets out this relationship.

The Medical Research Institute of New Zealand is an independent medical research organisation.  Our scientists are dedicated to investigating the causes of important public health problems In New Zealand and internationally, to use this knowledge to improve the prevention and treatment of diseases, and to provide a base for specialist training in medical research.

University of Otago
Christchurch School of Medicine & Health Sciences
The base for medical and postgraduate health education, and for health research in Christchurch.  There is a close collaboration between the Campus, the Canterbury District Health Board, the region’s hospitals, general practitioners, and other health and community agencies.
