Health Promotion Officer-Liquor Licensing

Public Health, Queenstown

* Permanent/Part-time, 0.7 FTE (56 hours per fortnight)

Are you an individual who is passionate about health and familiar with the challenges faced by people trying to improve and increase control over their health? Then this position could be for you.

We are looking for a person who has an understanding of regulatory frameworks and can prepare and report on liquor licenses within a specific time frame, they will also be required to contribute to preparation for hearings as required. An ability to support the development of alcohol polices would also be an advantage. Naturally you will be used to working autonomously, have an innovative approach and have familiarity with project development and implementation. You will have expertise in managing relationships both internally and in the wider community, including stakeholders and NGOs. A good knowledge of, and strong links to, the local Queenstown and wider Otago community will be an advantage.

It goes without saying that you will be an excellent presenter; with outstanding communication skills including strong report writing and computer literacy skills. It is important that you work as a valued team member and will be available to travel throughout the district. It is essential that you hold a full clean driver’s license.

If you have previous experience in health promotion, education, New Zealand Police, community, local body or regulatory work we would like to hear from you. A Public Health qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
