United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCROC)
This document is one of the UN's core human rights instruments with four governing principles and 54 articles which state the human right standards for the treatment and protect of children and young people. Since New Zealand ratified UNCROC in 1993 and the government has submitted two periodic reports to the UN concluding New Zealand's implementation of the rights set out in UNCROC.

WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health - Final Report
Closing the Gap in a Generation: Health equity through action on social determinants of health. [2008]
The Commission of Social Determinants of Health established this report to determine the evidence on how to promote health equity and foster a global unity towards this goal. The report examines the political, social and economic determinants which contribute to inequalities of health and ways in which to rectify the global inequities in health and well-being.

World Report on Child Injury Prevention (2008)
This is a joint report by the WHO and UNICEF which calls for safe keeping of children by promoting evidence-based injury prevention interventions and continued inter-sectoral attention. Current knowledge about the five most important causes of unintentional injury and seven recommendations for action are presented.

Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding (2003)
This Strategy aims to revitalize efforts to promote, protect and support appropriate infant and young child feeding. It builds on past initiatives and addresses the needs of all children including those living in difficult circumstances, such as infants of mothers living with HIV, low-birth-weight infants and infants in emergency situations.
