Update June 2011
A number of people answered a call in June 2010 for expressions of interest to be part of a working group to develop a Professional Association for health promoters in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
Trevor Simpson at HPF says “the high calibre and enthusiasim of these applicants is very encouraging.” “So many people are passionate about and committed to the development of a professional society we were able to convene a Working Group and an Advisory team.”
Effectively this initiative will culminate in the formation of an entity that represents a collective identity for health promoters based on respect for everyone’s right to hauora, collective rights and individual perspectives.
The Working Group has developed terms of reference to guide their work and the journey towards a possible structure and consititutiom Terms of Reference
A limited scope desk review was prepared in December 2010 to inform the work of the Health Promoter’s Professional Association Working Group. Key points from the review have been summarised in a report released June 2011Professional Association review.
